I'm pretty sure that Cindy also comments on it in chapter 11's sex scene, or whatever sex scene between the two that she comments about her going to the gym. Emma, in a round about way comments on it to Lena when they go bikini shopping; she says that everyone is starting to change and specifically mentions Holly and Lena, but Ian can also be inferred here.
