| Wait a second, you're telling me that Blue Box had the audacity to release a new opening and ending songs right now? After I had already made my list for the year? Dammit, now I have to go back and see where both of them place. Well, at the very least the ending since it's the one that hit me the most and has a better flow after one watch. Karen is a very interesting character to portray relationships. She set down the facade that we had from her apparent status with Haryuu and laid down the basics of how they came to not only know each other but express each other their feelings. In the end it's a matter of not overthinking it and just giving it a try considering that it may or may not work even after experimenting. Nice episode so send us off to 2025. |

| The new OP and ED are absolutely amazing, and the visuals are stunning. However, I’ve seen enough to know that when an ED focuses a lot on a character being happy, it usually means something sad is going to happen to them in the story. So, this doesn’t bode well for Hina 😭. This episode mainly centered around Karen and Kengo’s relationship. At first glance, they seemed like they had everything figured out, but their story shows how strong their bond is. They've managed to maintain their relationship despite the goals they need to achieve and the challenges of work. It’s a shame Kengo didn’t win his match, but that loss won’t stop him, especially with Karen’s support. They’re such a well-built couple and serve as a great inspiration for Taiki when it comes to his feelings for Chinatsu. But seriously, what’s with that ED? I’m Team Chinatsu, but it looks like Hina’s story is going to hurt a lot. |

| So I’ve finally decided on how I’m going to watch Blue Box going into Winter 2025, from now on it’s gonna be a Friday show for me, this way I don’t have to worry about if the episode will drop on time in the places I watch anime, typically it’ll be up by Friday, ignore the fact I’m watching this on Sunday lol. And to start the new cour we got a new OP and ED, atm neither beat the first two for me but they’re definitely really good, I haven’t heard Macaroni Empitsu since their Summertime Render OP so it’s very cool to hear them again, and TOMOO I’ve never heard before but their ED is really nice, Hina centric visuals were really cute but it makes me fear for her in this cour lol, at least she was looking incredibly pretty there. And this episode was a good one focusing on Haryu and his girl Karen, they’ve got a very tight relationship but even Haryu doesn’t have it all together despite how he looks to Taiki, also seeing that he lost his match, but he’s got an amazing girl in his corner with Karen, I really loved the backstory to how they ended up together. I also liked the not so subtle nudging that Karen was giving Taiki, she’s a bit of a troll but a nice wingwoman too, everything she said to Taiki was right on the money, let’s just hope he listens. And lastly, I saw people saying the production dipped a bit this episode, besides the use of many chibi scenes I didn’t really notice much, but at least the content itself was great to make up for the shortcomings. |
| Okay. Where is my Haryuu x Karen spin-off anime now? Seriously, the backstory of how they met and started dating was lovely, and Karen as character is actually quite endearing as well. Really liking her so far. Love the new Hina-focused ED, btw. |
| Was an alright episode. Pretty slow and the animation continues to dip in my opinion with the series, but was a nice change of pace focusing on Haryu and Karen a bit more this time around. Both have a lot of priorities with their own lives but do more than enough to support each other, which is cool to see. I like relationships that have a healthy enough balance than relationships so focused on each other together the entire time. The OP was a definite downgrade in all aspects. I loved that first OP a lot (one of my favorites from 2024) and this one just didn't have the hype moments or the good song to get me into the mood with the series. Can tell how Hina-centric this arc is solely from the amount of presence she had in the OP and all of the ED too in her own battle to win Taiki's heart. |
| If there is no Hina, the episode is boring. I don't comprehend how this can end well with Hina losing (I presume). Unless she's killed. |

| 2nd Cour is finally here, with Macaroni Empitsu's OP is different but decent, a downgrade over what Official Hige DANdism already created thhigh bar that it set. The fireworks festival gig certainly has Taiki frozen for a moment over romance, but everyone's head is in the game for Nationals, regardless of the sport. Karen getting the full details about Chinatsu living in Taiki's house, she's the closest confidante for sure, as much as she came to support her own boyfriend. In fact, hers and Haryu's experiences were once pretty much where Taiki, Chinatsu and Hina are at now, and Haryu understanding his girlfriend on what she needs the most, while Karen works on filling up the gaps, they're a relationship in development. That said, the long-standing rivalry between Haryu and Hyodo has been competitions in the making, for someone whose skills are dispensable, and meeting his girlfriend through swimming class and acknowledging her faults to want to try to do better. And right at this very moment, it's Haryu lighting for his life against Hyodo, who he just could not beat for the 2 years. Of course, the dense boy not realizing how Chinatsu is to him that he gradually overthinks about wanting to be in the safe spot, but eventually he would still have to cross the line. TOMOO's 2nd Cour ED is already a step in the right direction following Eve's 1st Cour ED, better even. The focus on Hina is unparalleled for the 2nd half. |

| We got an episode focused on Kengo and Karen, and I'm not complaining, because they are both incredible characters, and their love story was just cute and wholesome. It's unfortunate that Kengo lost his match. Honeslty, we are 13 episodes in, and someone in this anime still has to win something. This is getting kinda depressing. It's clear now that the "sports" aspect of the anime isn't going to have a lot of focus, but it's still a good aspect of the anime. It seems like Karen is trying her best to make Chinatsu and Taiki accept their feelings for eachother, and honestly they have a lot to learn from Karen and Kengo's relationship. Now it's school, then it's university, then it's their job... They will always have something to focus on, so they clearly have to find a way to make a balance, or they will only date when they get retired. Overall, another amazing episode. On a side note, the new opening and ending are quite a disappointment. I mean, the anime set the standards high with the pair of "Same Blue" and "Teenage Blue", because those songs were clearly amazing, but the new opening was just not it. The new ending was kinda bland, I tend to like these more emotional/ballad songs, but this one just felt bland and not emotional, but depending on how these next 12 episodes go, it might grow on me. However, the opening was just mid honestly, and I doubt it will grow on me. Quite a disappointment honestly. The thing with changing the openings and endings each 12/13 episodes in anime is this, while it's fun to have a new song and everything, when the prior opening was so good, and they change it to a mid/bad song, you always end up thinking "hmm, they could have just maintained the same opening until the end". Will certainly miss the 1st opening and ending, the episode just didn't feel the same, but I guess I'll get used to it. |
| Hmm pretty good 2nd OP. Real catchy and love the visuals. Damm in that state Haryu's like a demon lol. Karen's always a joy to see. Still it was cute seeing what her early days with Haryu was like. Esp the journal part. But it served well to showcase the kind of drive that she has in her. Overall a fun ep that really did well to expand upon Haryu and Karen's bond and characters while using their experiences to help Taiki move forward. Excellent ending theme as well. Hina was just so pretty. |

| some sweet moments between Taiki and Chinatsu. Their chemistry is subtle but growing. Haryuu’s tournament match is a highlight, even though he doesn’t win—his growth and determination shine through. The animation is top-notch as always, especially during the sports scenes. Rating: 8.5/10 |
| Man, the release of this anime is really confusing. I didn't know this episode was already out. I thought they said they'd take a break for a week? Anyway, the 2nd OP and ED are so good! But I'm really gonna miss the first OP and ED. They had the perfect feel to them—especially the first ED. The new ED is great. But it focuses a lot on Hina and has a melancholic feel which makes me sad. This episode focused a lot on Haryu and Karen and I loved it. At first, I didn't think Haryu would be much more than a temporary rival for Taiki. I'm liking what the show's doing for his character thus far. Shame he lost but losses will give him character development. He's going to do better next time. His girlfriend Karen is also an awesome character. I like how she's pushing Taiki on his romantic struggles and also telling him about stuff he never considered. She might be the final push for Taiki to do something about his feelings with Chinatsu and that'd be great. And again, I loved her backstory with Haryu. Karen and Chinatsu seem like very successful people from the outside but they have their own problems that they have to deal with. |

| It has been sometime since i read this part of the manga, but i forgot how wholesome Karen and Hayru relationship is. Karen is one of the best characters in the series and she will have some important parts later too. |

| Angel or Fairy, who will Taiki choose? Chinatsu is heading off to nationals earlier with the impression Taiki has a relationship with Hina that he wants to hide out of consideration. Her friend Karen is getting both sides of their living together story as she deduces from his reaction to the phone call that he likes Chinatsu back. Got focus on Haryu and Karen and how they came to be together. Even though she was bad at swimming, even though he couldn't progress through the tournament they're still together. |

| By far the best episode of the series between two people actually in a functioning relationship. It's kinda rough that Haryu kept losing to Hyodou. Atleast once he should have one. Still Haryu best character of this show. |
| I like the previous OP and ED better as it felt more "sports focused". Now it's about love and rivalry (which tbf is kind of the direction the story is headed), but I digress. Animation looks off, not only that, still shots of Karen look inconsistent a lot of times. Hopefully this is a time thing or at least doesn't take the majority of the remaining episodes. |

| Karen's pretty, hot, and fun~ I get why Haryu would like her. They're such a cute couple. There's a lot of focus on Hina in the OP and ED, especially the ED which is just for her. Hm. |
